If you have found a bat flying around in your Slidell home, you may want to walk around the exterior to see if there’s a bigger issue. You can of course call me and with my expert eyes I can usually spot it right away, often from street-view in Google Earth! Once you know what to look for it is usually pretty easy to spot the bat problem unless it’s a very new issue or it is so high up difficult to see.
The images here show what typical bat issues look like, often found by spotting the brown dirty spot. These images are all from real bat jobs, and show various places bats can get into. The brown wispy staining, always near a crevice is the best indicator. you might find that there is more than one place.
To get rid of them we seal up everything else that is NOT stained brown like that, then install one way doors at those locations. Those one-way doors may be left in place for 3 nights or up to 2 weeks depending on weather conditions. Sometimes, we need to wait for the young pups to be able to fly before we can actually get rid of them – and that is why you need a pro to help determine the best plan. Bats differ all across the US in terms of breeding and birthing seasons so a local expert is the best choice!
With more than 25yrs experience at this point with bats in our area – I am absolutely the best choice when choosing a company with experience. I offer and provide the best warranty as well. Not every bat problem can be easily solved due to construction flaws or design issues. If you build a shed with terrible framing, gaps everywhere, mismatched materials, and think sealing up one hole will fix it – you are in for a long ordeal as bats are very site specific and when the decide to call a place home they really are pesky!
